Every drawings is completed by hand simply using a digital pencil on a tablet while studying a digital photo or photos. As in traditional fine art drawing and painting all the content, marks, gestures, tones are achieved using brush or pen strokes exactly the same way they would be made on canvas or paper. But this process its own unique advantages beyond the immediate transferability or remote printing options.

Digital Portraits can be adjusted in many ways, before (in terms of planning added elements or changes to original photograph) or removing or adding features or objects, colouring, location etc.
In recent years the manipulation or retouching of a photograph was an expensive and technically challenging service; with digital portraits these alteterations can be planned in advance incorporated into your portrait.
This focus is what makes these portraits special. Since the days of the Renaissance and the Dutch masters new technology has always come hand in hand with fine-art and making but the challenge today is to retain the, human sensitivity and critical choices if we want to make something that can not only defy AI but overcome the tide wave of machine made images were beginning to encounter.
Each drawing takes between 6 and 12 hours drawing time to complete (this may be between 2-10 days. Finished works will be emailed and optional printed version sent to anywhere in the world for you to see, share and print at any time.
Option to order prints: Sent 1st class from our base in Glasgow. Due to shipping limitations we can only offer advice on mounting and framing of printed artworks.
